For recessed mounts inside the window, the frame will hold the head rail and slats. This mount is neat and will not interfere with your trim. An outside mount for a 2″ wood blind will not look as clean, but you may have to do it depending on your window dimensions. Outside mounts can hide unappealing trim. If you want to maximize both view when the windows are open and privacy when closed, outside mounts cover more area.
